Plotwise, can Brutes be killed?

I've always wondered: how brutal is the average Brute? We already know that grunts are indeed, quite gruntish, as evidenced by the one that got totally chopped up in the sewers. Gabriel's Remember story also notes that the Grunt can feel pain and be burned to death. So really, if you have a gun with you, Grunts aren't something to worry about.

But the brutality of the Brute has never truly been ascertained, because not once in the game or in the Remember stories does it die traditionally; getting crushed by the shadow or falling down an Abyss doesn't count. Assume a simple one-on-one battle between a Brute and a human, where the human could use any weapon of their choice. How powerful would this weapon have to be in order to kill the Brute? Do you think it can realistically die by a weapon?

I'd actually like to see a Samurai fight a brute with a katana in a epic sunset showdown.

I think that maybe a couple blasts with the shotgun to the head or upper body would kill him. He looks tough and all but he isn't huge and muscular. As long as you can keep your distance.

I'd probably try slice his face in half with an ax, and then realize when it doesn't work that "oh shit, his face is already sliced in half" and then get my anus plundered by his massive blade.

God xD that's a horrible idea. You try and swing and ur getting stabbed in your nipples. Best to keep your nipples at a distance...
