Hi from the future. nope past.
light takes time to go to your brain. brain takes time to compute. therefore we are never "living" "now". But it is still a message from the future in a way: When Scraper wrote it, it ended up in his past but it was stored in Nemet's future since he hadn't recieved the message at the time it was written...and then Nemet read it in his past...and my brain is hurting...

RE: Time?
Well, first: There is no such thing as the Present.
If you are even a casual follower of Einstein, you know that everything is relative to everything else. With all of the complex motions of the universe, and our day-to-day lives, not a single person lives on exactly the same timelines. A moving train ages slower than a person walking. Throw in a black hole, and watch everything get fucked up.
Then you get into quantum theory which deals with a whole other slurry of problems, like the double slit experiment.
The biggest problem is when you try to combine the two, Relativity works on Big objects, quantum theory works on particles, and we have nothing as of yet that combines both, even though they are both true.

Agreed. And if black holes do that, you're busted. Because the event horizon swallows you. And you won't even see that.

Time moves differently in space than on Earth (differently being slightly slower, according to those hip scientists). Time doesn't really exist in a black hole; if you get near it, it slows down, but on the event horizon it stops.

I rate it 3 memes.

Time doesn't really exist in a black hole; if you get near it, it slows down, but on the event horizon it stops. Not so sure. The event horizon is far from the epicenter of the black hole, and that is where time stops. You won't get to see that, because you're dead once you're in the singularity.
The reason it stops while you're outside the event horizon? Time dilation.
If you're inside a black hole's gravity field, time appears normal, but everyone outside it is "sped" up. It's the opposite in the other side, except "slown" down.

This is exactly what I was thinking, and my thought that I had seems to be true, yes?
