Nah, it's just that only about a dozen people actually know how to make a good one and everyone else basically just shits in the level editor and releases it.

Also. The last custom story I played was the 24 hour custom - Take 2. Custom Stories are hard to get into anymore. =P I have to do something different with mine, all new assets, SOMETHING.

I'm reserving my mod virginity for AmFP; I've made a few already but haven't released them. The one I will release should be pretty good though.

Or you could just do what I'm doing and take a year and a fucking half to make a single mod.

I've been down that dark road (which is why I haven't released anything) so I'm forcing myself to make it exactly how I want it right from the start: I want to have every single mapping detail, event, and note planned out ahead of time so I don't stray too far from the product I want.

I have (what I think is) a really solid idea/theme I want to build it around and I think it will turn out well. I'm also secretly holding out to see what kinds of new building goodies will come with AMfP.

Actually surprisingly I've stuck with all the ideas I had for mine from the start, but I'm just editing them and improving them as I got further into it (which eventually led to me having to completely re-do certain maps (THATFUCKINGBARNFUCK)). Of course certain ideas have been added/scrapped, but I still have the basic level flow that I planned out in my head when I initially started it, along with pretty much the same story.
