Valve is awesome. Their business structure is practically communism.

Then why haven't they put a subscription on Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3. Because nobody would accept subscription on something that doesn't require as big and many servers to be constantly on as an MMORPG.

Did you just answer your own question there? Also, SC2 and D3 don't require nearly as many technicians and other support staff. Also, much less people play it. EDIT: Also, SC2 is not actually on the Battle.net servers - it's local hosted. D3 on the other hand does have server running costs, but I'm assuming the ridiculous Real Money Auction House pays for that ten times over.

Okay now, even I have to say that all this drama about the release date is slooowly getting just a liiiittle bit ridiculous I mean, I'd consider myself to be a pretty die-hard Frictional fan too, but...there are other games out there y' know? So take a chill pill guys...relax...play something else for a while. Go get a nice, cheap indie game like Don't Starve or Binding of Isaac to pass the time and before you know it, the release will be there!

This thread is huge and unwieldy anyway, perhaps an idea would be to close it and open up a "Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion Part 2".

Now that TDD is on sale I'm thinking, perhaps AMFP will be released in may.

It would make sense. They put TDD on sale now so people will buy it and look forward to AMFP, while at the same time make a last bit of cash on TDD before they include it for free in a pre-order deal for AMFP. Right?
