Help! Stuck in Black Plague 1st scene

Unable to use coins on vice. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Collected all goodies. Wondering if there's glitch in my copy.

Ok, Grab coin, put it in number slot, press the number and put the coin in the vice. Spin the handle to the (left) a bit and it will stop, and the coin will give off a few small sparks. From there, put t in the vent screw.
If you're doing that, where did you purchase your copy from?

Make sure the vice is "open" before putting the coin in. If u spun it before trying the coin, chances are that it is closed when u are trying.
