What other games have done this? I mean, they were being so secretive about any game related material and then suddenly, BAM. 3 minutes of unaltered, Pewdiepie stained gameplay which apparently includes spoilers of some scares and some of the monster. I haven't actually watched the video but this is what I've heard about it. It's really hard to not watch this video after being so desperate for news for the longest time. Had it been a trailer that would've been great, but this is just spoilers. That might sound strange considering a trailer would be guaranteed to contain spoilers, but I just don't trust watching this video knowing that it isn't made by some of the development team. I know that this is good for the sales but damn. It feels really bad knowing that this video exists. I feel betrayed by FG, having followed this game for so long and being a huge fan, but the Pewdiepie fans are rewarded with the first real gameplay video. Also upsetting knowing that somewhere some diehard pewdie fan who's never heard about the new amnesia before watching this video has bought it before I've had the chance to.
Also guys, use spoiler tags for fucks sake if you're going to spoil something. It's really hard trying to read comments when people talk about the contents of the video willy nilly without any care that some people don't want to see that. Probably gonna have to stay away from this forum until I finish the game..
I think the gameplay trailer was different because it was created by frictional and it shows how the gameplay works without spoiling anything. This pewdiepie thing was out of the blue and a lot of people after waiting so long for news expected something better than a controversial youtuber's montage..

I wouldn't mind them releasing it like 1-2 days before, but 2 weeks?! That's just too much for my couriosity to take!

There's also that, I mean they're gonna get buys from pewdie whether they have him make a video before release or not. Why did it have to be so early?

Quite.
Y'know, I really do worry about Frictional (and The Chinese Room) at times - both studios create excellent games/experiences yet they seem to have a habit of upsetting their dedicated and (usually) highly supportive fans: for example, The Chinese Room take away Everybody's Gone To The Rapture from the PC users who were anticipating it and make it a PS4 exclusive, then Frictional pull this controversial 'stunt' with PDP.
I noticed something in the video that is quite interesting.
Spoiler below!
In the video,if you look at the position of the hand at the beggining and the hand at the end you will see that the position of the hand drastically changed.Did he maybe zoom in the video for some reason?

Leaves us only with the hope that FG won't be making an announcement about their Super Secret project being for consoles only
I sometimes really wish be it Pewdie, Frictional Games, or thechineseroom would come out, and give their side of the story along with their opinion.
Not to make any accusations, but right now I feel as if they're trying to play it safe by not saying anything, and acting like "Nono! We're all neutral on this! You guys can go talk it out yourselves!" I sincerely think that this isn't the case, and they must have some sort of opinion on this matter. If they would come out, and have their say on their mindset on doing whatever it is they do, then we could very well be spared a lot of the trouble speculating if anyone's selling out, purposely spoiling, or don't care about their fans.
That's something I really like about TotalBiscut. He isn't afraid to come out, and speak his subjective mind on various matters involving fans, and will sometimes even speak against fans directly if he doesn't agree with them, even if it risks causing drama. He states in one of his recent videos that he likes to get into matters himself without leaving it all up to the fans to "speak for him" while pretending to be neutral.
