Garrett from the Thief series. That guy is literally Phil Marlowe meets Batman meets Arséne Lupine. Badass enough, IMHO. Wink: Cool

Max Payne is not bad either.

RE: Badass game characters

I would really like to see one weapon from halo that isnt modeled after another weapon from some other game, and if you say needler, HIVE GUN IN HALF LIFE 1.

If anything, go take a look at a game called battlezone 2, it was made about 2 years before halo, but guess what. Its about humans, riding around in tanks and motorcycles fighting an alien COMBINE. Halo didnt innovate anything, they just made it look cool.

Oh, and I'd have to say Garret, thief was such a cool series ruined by popular "sales" (xbox development neutered pc version). Oblivion with some of the stealth mods and the Thieves arsenal mod is so much like what thief 4 could be its uncanny tho.

If you like Halo, then maybe you should try out Marathon.

Made by the same people, but much better...

Nowadays you can get it to work on newer computers too!

Get Marathon <-- Download all the scenarios (and Aleph One) to play

Marathon is not better than Halo, at least not the first one.
I downloaded Aleph One a few weeks ago and have started playing Marathon and it's pretty crappy. I guess it's my own fault though, I didn't figure out how to heal until the level "Cool Fusion". I thought the game was nutty hardcore before then, had to play without taking more than a few hits for like 10 levels on Normal difficulty lol. Still pretty hard but mostly a bad Doom clone.

Worst regards, Kejdane.

Well, I was a bit put off before I figured out how to save the game...

The thing that makes Marathon good is the story mostly. Pay attention to those terminals. Big Grin:

Maybe I have to admit that I´ve actually not played Halo... Blush  Blush  Blush Sorry.
