Amnesia TDD has horrible german translation. OK, it's not horrible, but it's not very well done. And I also couldn't say that the english original is better.
I reworked the german lang files for myself to improve experience and immersion.

Hopefully Shentloc will do it better in AAMFP.

Penumbra had perfect german localozation.

I've talked about Russian localization of TDD. It was really awesome - some people think, that it's better than an original!
But what I've seen in Shentloc translation got me quite disappointed, because it really looks like some machine-translation.

Yes, I know. But you said that the first Amnesia had a better translation studio, but that's not correct when I look at the german localization.

Better than the original? The voice actors of Amnesia are excellent. But I think that Penumbra Overture had better german actors than the original english speakers. Possible that the russian Amnesia is even better than the original.

I will definitely also work on my own AAMFP translation. When the original is horrible, other players could use it.

Just in case you haven't seen:

And yes, it's just what i said to dude from Russia on a previous page - in worst case we could do fan-translation (it would be really hard, though).

I know. I tried to translate Justine once... It was a crazy combo between English and French.

Sorry, I do not want to watch any videos of AAMFP before I played it.
To re-translate a game is hard. You can just use the original and then look for mistakes or bad formulation and make it better, but I'm a perfectionist and everything I do must be absolute perfect. Then it's hard and it will take you much time.

Some texts of Justine already are in french. But the english formulation is really hard to translate. Most translators doesn't know the words, translate it not correctly or there is no sense in the text.

That's a problem for story relevant content.

I translated Penumbra Requiem to german - that was a hard marathon!

To use a translator is not very good for you. I use it only like a dictionary, only if I don't know any single word.

But to translate French text, which I don't know at all, was difficult for me. So, resulting text was not very smooth.
