Have you read the Outlast thread lately by any chance? Good stuff.

If you open a poll about "Car or Bike" on a forum of bikers, bike will probably win. Are they allowed to prefer bikes without being entitled fanatics?
This doesn't have to be fanboyism. I guess we're here because we share a common interest for Amnesia and not necessarily Outlast. And no, I don't believe there has been a major part of this community who has been talking garbage about Outlast...

You can't have been looking very hard then. Even leaving aside the numerous slights against the game here, glancing at the AMFP steam community, there's a whole bunch of people talking down on Outlast. Saying it's just a bunch of jump scares(which is blatantly wrong) and the like. True, there's others who aren't behaving like that, but still there is quite a noticeable portion of them.
Just to note, I don't have a problem with people disliking Outlast, or preferring Amnesia. My problem is with people dumping on it who haven't even played the game.

Outlast and Amnesia are both very different games. Both with their own strengths and weaknesses. They are also both heaps of fun and it's absolutely fantastic that the survival horror genre finally has true SURVIVAL horror titles. I'm surprised more people are psyched that the horror genre is constantly evolving at the moment, it is pushing strides far further than FPS's, RPG's etc.

Errr... First off. The Steam community and the FG community are two different things.

I have been reading here constructive comments, from people who have played/been playing it.

that's why I talk about it now. however. I didn't play it myself but still by looking at it, and as a person who gets scared pretty easily, I can say it looks very good and the fact you can see the body of the person you control is very unique and makes it more.....like you're that person.
anyway enough about that, I hope I can play Amnesia on my pc. otherwise I have to turn internet off to avoid spoilers and wait to buy a new one

So I just pre-loaded the game and I have 1 question.
Am I supposed to get an icon on my desktop or anywhere....cause I'm not. Did anyone get one? Or is it supposed to be this way?

Steam?
You never get shortcuts for steam. You run them from the library.

You won't be able to play it till it has been released next week. The pre-loading is just so you don't have to sit through the download anymore once it has been released.
