				Oh I just remembered:
 There was this one X-Files episode I watched a while ago about a bug creature thing that flickers in and out of reality and could only been seen by one guy. There was a creepy scene where it moved across a ceiling and it looked as if animated in stop motion. Plus there was another scene where the bug is flickering behind someone and you could see it's face.
 
 Scared me a bit when I saw that thing.

				I take the quote about Lovecraft to mean a couple of things:
 -There's going to be a lot of exposition, presumably via text along with other means.  Hopefully we'll also get audio logs and direct interaction with characters this time.
 
 -The story and setting will, once again, contain elements of Lovecraftian horror.  I'm guessing that means an intellectual protagonist and the presence of inscrutable aliens.
 
 So it's a futuristic version of a Lovecraft tale.  Into The Mountains of Madness in space?
