Plane shadows

Does anybody know if there is a way to make a plane cast shadows?
I did try checking "cast shadows" in the level editor, but it didn't work and i could not find any options in the material editor.

RE: Plane shadows

It doesn't seem to work last time I tried. What I did to get around this was put a static_object "Technical Black Plane" slightly behind the plane. It has model properties, so it'll cast shadows.

RE: Plane shadows

You can always use a square shaped object, like a closet or cabinet. Just morph it to the size you want it. It doesn't matter how it looks, the player won't see it, right?

RE: Plane shadows

Thanks for your responses, but it seems like the planes actually cast shadows in game, just not in the level editor.

Edit: Or so it would seem... I'm not sure..

That is correct.
It works fine. You just can't see it in the editor.
Planes cast shadows just fine Smile

I've been using them lots of time before..

Trying is the first step to success.
