An Interesting Theory.

In the beginning of Penumbra: Overture, Phillip states that sending messages from the dead must have been a genetic habit in his family.

Am I the only one who believes that this may have been a mention to Amnesia: The Dark Descent? Think about it. Phillip is English (atleast from what I can tell), and I'm assuming David is as well.

Discuss.

I think he refers to his father writing/sending him that letter. Smile

Phillip states that sending messages from the dead must have been a genetic habit in his family.

Assuming the letter was the first Phillip had heard from his father.

Well, it is an "interesting" theory, but the games are set in different universes / serials / whatever. They are two separate IPs, so I don't think they are connected in any way. Smile

RE: An Interesting Theory.

His father wrote from beyond the grave, as he was just about to die when he wrote the letter.
Spoiler below!
At the end of Black Plague, Philip does the same thing. He writes to someone even though he's about to die. The cutscenes at the beginning of each game and the little blurbs shown when loading a level are all part of the letter he writes to Mr. X. That's why he mentions writing beyond the grave. He's talking about himself.

Ah, interesting.

Well I won't go throwing the idea out yet! I guess we'll just have to wait for it to release. Smile

RE: An Interesting Theory.

If you remember the intro text before the start screen of Penumbra Overture has a message that is the same at the end of Black Plaque, and that same text arrises in Requim. Problem is.....who is Phillip sending it too?
