Do anyone even use CDs anymore? Even DVDs are pretty much out. If it were to be released as a physical copy, I would expect it to only contain some base files and then use an online downloader to fetch the game itself.

I use CD's to backup my PS1 games. Some amazing stuff right there. Only problem is I am starting to find it harder to find them, since I think the whole "VHS" ending support is coming about soon.

Well yeah, there's no way SOMA would fit on a CD, but I don't think many games nowadays use CDs anymore. I'm pretty sure that most retail PC games have made the switch to DVDs.

According to Steam, the download size of the game is 10.3 GB, and the size of a standard DVD is 4.7 GB. for a single-layered disc and 9.4 GB for a double-layered disc. That makes the current installation size just a bit over the single disc limit, although if the game were streamlined a bit, perhaps with a bit more aggressive compression and trimming of assets that are used once or less, I bet it would be possible to fit the game onto a single double-layered DVD.

There is a lot of unused dialogue and other stuff in SOMA, deleting that might help.

I actually got a PEGI version done, I just wasn't on long enough yesterday to upload it to Imgur and put it on this thread. Hope I did it correctly. (;
