RE: Amnesia as Interactive Fiction

As Alpha23 said, you might want to try out some interactive fiction first before you ask any questions, as I'm sure many of them will be answered if you do.
For instance: Anchorhead.

Think of it as one of those choose-your-own-adventure books, but electronic, and being able to have much more freedom, depending on the game itself. I've always been a big fan of IF in general, but it's hard to attract an audience, since popularity has rapidly decreased in the past two decades due to more graphics-intensive games being introduced. It's quite sad, really.

Thanks!
Do you have any experience with Interactive Fiction or Inform 7 at all? If not, I recommend you check it out. There's quite a few IF games ( http://ifdb.tads.org/ is a good place to start) that can be played online, and can be an extremely immersive and rewarding experience. One example, as mentioned before, is Anchorhead. If you love Lovecraftian horror, then you'll love/adore this game. Try it!

I'm also quite addicted again at the moment and I'd like to gain experience in writing IF very much!

No problem.
I great place to start learning about writing IF is Inform 7's website, http://inform7.com/
Inform 7 today is often considered the standard for IF in general, and with the immense amount of documentation online and on Inform 7, it can be fairly simple to learn/write/code. The program itself comes with everything you will need to get started (including documentation, as mentioned before), so if you're interested, download it.

RE: Amnesia as Interactive Fiction
By the way, is there anyone else who has any kind of experience with interactive fiction or Inform 7, or is interested in learning about them? Feel free to comment and ask any questions you have, and if you're interested, perhaps you may be able to contribute in some form.
Remember: Everyone is welcome!

RE: Amnesia as Interactive Fiction
I find this situation quite depressing...
No one else is interested in learning more about interactive fiction, or contributing to the project? I think I'm going to start to get emotional (*snif*).

Are you saying that interactive fiction is "sucky" in general, or the project itself? Please explain.
Tell if this seems... "sucky" to you: http://www.ifiction.org/games/play.phpz?...&mode=html
