Glitch, Coincidence, or Supposed to Happen?

While playing Black Plague last night I was at the point where you're crawling through the vents after escaping from your cell. I crawled past the room with the corpse on the table, and when I moved forward just before I reached the turn I suddenly found myself back in front of the grate to that room. I assumed the game had glitched and moved on, but later, after I had heard multiple times that deja vu was a symptom of the infection, I wondered if that was supposed to happen.If not, it was a funny coincidence. If so, it was a nice little trick on Frictional's part. XD
What has been seen, cannot be unseen.
