RE: Portal 2

I will stop caring as soon as the just-announced DLC arrives and is challenging, fun, and free.

Yeah, I sure hope that VALVe don't fuck us around and make us pay something for the DLC..

RE: Portal 2

While I would have liked to have more variety in solutions to puzzles (ala Portal 1), I'm quite pleased by P2 actually.

Very solid single player game, fantastic writing (I have not laughed so hard over the span of 8 hours in, well, forever), and the tour through Apertures history was a nice touch. Co-op is a blast, griefing friends has never been so fun. I'm looking forward to the DLC.

I may be a bit biased in my opinion though, as I've been a die hard Valve fan since I first loaded up Half Life. Not to say I don't feel they can do no wrong, the ManCo and Robot Enrichment stores being examples of what I'd rather not see them do. The neglect of L4D1 in favor of the second is also a bit disheartening.

RE: Portal 2

In my opinion, Portal 2 is better in every way compared to Portal. Portal 2 is longer, more challenging and interesting storyline, and the writing is superior. I haven't got any nostalgia towards Portal. It sure was a great game, but I just think Portal 2 went with the concept so much further.

And offtopic, I haven't really liked L4D series. Anyone agree that it's the worst game VALVe have made? And okey, the worst game made by VALVe doesn't mean it really sucks. It's just good, but not really good.

The story progressed, and game mechanics were added that could have advanced the gameplay, but I felt it was less challenging than the original.

I also don't really care for multiplayer only FPSes.

RE: Portal 2

I decided to buy Portal 2 today and finished it, although I won't review it until I play through the co-op with another reviewer from the UK. Wink
