Also, (correct me if I'm wrong) Daniel took the amnesia potion because he was almost unable to function knowing what he did to those innocent people. Sabotaging the elevator would take quite a bit of work.. if he wasn't able to function with the guilt, how could he come up with this? And if he was able to sabotage the elevator even with the guilt, why wouldn't he first kill Alexander and THEN take the amnesia potion to wash away the guilt?

I just don't think he'd able to come up with ingenious plans in the state he was before drinking the potion. I believe the only thing he was able to do was write a note to his amnesiac self and that's it.
I actually agree whole heartedly with this, and the more I think on it the more I think it was just a plot hole FG never managed to fill...unless they say other wise here (which would be awesome)!

Quote: I've smelt enough roadkill to know that clove and sage wouldn't mask the
scent of rotting flesh. Even when burnt as incense they don't have a
strong enough scent to mask that very distinctive odor.

It would be more likely that Alexander had some sort of alchemical Febreeze like substance.
Okay I laughed at that Febreeze bit. I wonder how strong the odor would be (and just what chemicals did you mix up incorrectly this time to get this Febreeze, Alexander? Ha ha ha!)
