Somehow your drawing made me want to paint it for practice and fun. And god damn you picked one hard perspective! And while I did his, I want to also prove a point.

I'm not an artist and I suck at drawing. I even had to cheat by using a G'MIC filter. But my point is that when I recently started to study art a little bit. I found color theory and started to see things a little different. This started making sense and I started to incorporate it into level editing. Now I think you can pretty much use guidelines for like photography to aid you create levels. For example, create color scheme you want to stick with or use rule of thirds to lay out certain structures for the player to see properly on certain point.

But my point, your picture has a lot more detail, but it simply lacks in color. I'm not trying to insult your skills, but if you have the same amount of thought for color in level editing as in that drawing, your maps will look bland and boring.

And if you want to learn about color theory here is a link to a tutorial the whole internet suggests.
If you don't want to study anything, it is possible to use something like this to get a color scheme you like easy and fast.
