Custom Stories option

I see where you are coming from, but might as well give Penumbra a try with custom story. Penumbra shocked me on how brilliant it was while I was playing it, and so was amnesia. but not only was amnesia's story good, so was its community with the custom stories. so you never know with penumbra. I say to give it a shot.

I say source code is out there and people can make it themselves instead of passing things like amount of time needed to make it, how difficult it would be to change the source code and building a level editor for that, in fact it won't bring much money (with the possibility of 'not at all'), and outdated features of HPL1.
Only thing impossible to do with HPL2 is to bring fighting mechanics, which was only in Penumbra Overture to begin with.

Do you think it sounds logical to put HPL3 work on hiatus, while it would bring features like direct sunlight, terrain editor, new and better scripting system and much more, and let literally making any kind of game (even a car race simulator); and work on an outdated engine which won't support anything more than Amnesia(HPL2) except a clumsy fighting system.
