Well, I don't know what's making me do this but I'll give you guys some info =]
I live in the great land of New Jersey, USA. I am 18 years old and I've been wanting to do game design since I first played the Nintendo 64. I have so much of my inspiration put into sick ways, which is why I am mainly a horror guy. Regular games seem to bore me. I like some dementia! Though, going to college is a costly thing, so both in my interest and my need, I am currently going through the "entry-step" of becoming a United States Marine. The benefits are forever, my college is paid for, and the experience will be one hell of a one. It's ironic though... Like Cranky Old Man has said, I have seen way too many police who are corrupt, lazy, or uncaring for what is REALLY a crime. I could go into my experiences, but I'm not going to. I want to prove them wrong as well as anyone who thinks what I'm going to do for my future is a waste of time. Do you know how many times I hear people say "gaming doesn't pay well"? Let me teach you some simple, estimated math:
Let's make a simple game for a smartphone labelled for 2 dollars. $1.99... Let's say we sell 100,000 by the end of the year, which is about $200,000, give or take. Take away 7% tax, you have maybe $186,000 in a year... In New Jersey, it is stated that you need a minimum of about $30,000-$40,000 annual salary to survive. Now. Tell me again where the pay doesn't come in well?
But yeah... I will continue my future as a game developer, and I will be in the process of becoming a US Marine in about a year. Root for me guys =]
And here's some shots of my putrid face and my favorite costumes I have made:
Spoiler below!
People be trying to take my Beef Jerky.
