I Just Coded my First Jumpscare

Now that just seems kind of extreme.

The problem isn't necessarily that people in the community are stupid, per se (though there are certainly a fair share of stupid people), but merely not mature enough to fully grasp what Amnesia (and the horror genre) is truly all about. the problem lies more in the fact that people who are way too young to be exposed to content as graphic as that depicted in Amnesia, are in fact exposed to it as a result of either poor parenting or... well, no parenting. Then, not only are they exposed to this material (which, due to the psychological nature of it, is far more dense than any person that age would be able to intellectually grasp), but they are even allowed to do whatever they want with the assets within it. Thus, the shitty custom story is born, as people who are unable to grasp the finer psychological nuances and attention to detail that Frictional Games gave us are set forth upon those tools, and the only creations they can divvy out of these tools are the more blatant "shocking" ones that require no set-up or build-up.

I'm just trying to figure out why the fuck Amnesia of all games has attracted so many of these children.

One word; Youtube, particularly Pewdiepie. While I respect him as an entertainer, I hate everything about his fanbase. They're stupid and they think everything remotely related to Pewdiepie is like them, and according to them that also means Amnesia. I used to like Pewdiepie, but after truly becoming part of this forum, seeing what his legacy has amounted to, I hate his channel with a burning passion. So yeah, I think they're stupid. Not because of their ignorance, but because they think they have anything to put on the fucking table besides shit and barrels!

And maybe putting a knife in their mouths and talking(looking as well) like a homicidal maniac will teach them what real fear is! Not a scary monster, but what the sick fuck who made this CS is going to put you through next. It isn't the knife that's scary, it's the person holding it! They think up an abundance of horrifying conclusions to be reached by the man with the blade, that death is a release from those pity, pathetic squabbles those shitheads think up!
