Penumbra 3 comming out?

I doubt it with P3 quick release (I think it said june 2008!)

They will likely use the same engine to keep the feel of the engine. But this would be a good test for hpl2, and I doubt they want to keep doing work on hpl1.

I'll be surprised and not surprised if they use hpl2 :/
