Guyra Wrote:It was said in a web article, which source I don't know, that it might be a retelling, but nothing official has been said about that, as far as I know. However, in late 2004, it was official that a fourth Thief game was in preproduction, according to Wikipedia.

Yeah, I know. I also read, that the fourth Thief, that was in pre-pro during 2004, was planned as a massive make-over of the setting - they planned to set the new one in more modern times (something like the 19. or early 20. century) and make it a film-noiresque crime story with mystery and fantasy elements. Garret and some of the other characters would stay, but they would exist as modern alter egos of the original ones - so Garret would be something like a thieving Phil Marlowe... :-DDD But this version never got off the drawing board, it got cancelled soon. Ion Storm is defunct now anyway...

So, the comeback of the series still remains in question. Anyway, I would love the idea, that the little orphan girl from the ending of Deadly Shadows became Garrett's adopted daughter and apprentice and that the fourth Thief game will now focus on her as the new heroine... And Garrett would appear too, but just as an old retired veteran, who would give advice to her occasionaly... It would be funny. :-)
