In other news, I can't listen to readings of my own story without cringing every 5 seconds from thinking "Holy fuck what the hell was I thinking when I wrote that sentence? Was I high or some shit?". So that's not fun.

I thought the first half of it was incredibly well done, but the last encounter the boy had with the bed monster thing went kind of over board I thought. What made the first few nights so creepy was that whatever that thing was never really explained in depth, it was just this evil, creepy entity that was trying to get to this boy and getting closer every night. That's creepy, but when the thing is LITERALLY ON TOP OF HIM and the author explains exactly what the thing looks and feels like, it kind of killed it for me. I dunno, that kind of just bugged me a bit when I originally read that story.
