Custom lantern [Request]

Just a quick question, why would you have to go though all the steps of making a FC when you could just replace the lantern in amnesia with your custom one, i'm going to guess that the reason for this is that it is either too complicated or illegal but I am unsure. :S

Just a normal CS is accessed trough the normal game. With an FC you create all your own entities and you can replace normal amnesia stuff with your own custom things (Menu, lantern, etc.)

I hope I explained that right.

Ah ok, but couldn't you just add another lantern into the actual amnesia files? The custom lantern, that way you would not have to make a whole conversion
