RE: New blog post on combat in Penumbra

For me, there were two things that picked up my interesting to this game: Physic mechanics and more importantly: NO GUNS! Not even a single gun. With, or without bullets.
If there were guns, I guess this game would just be another FPS.

And why there always have to be guns? I hope more game companies find the solution to left the guns totally out of the game and start to make the game more scarier this way.

"Use brains, not guns!" -Scraper (And you can all use that!)

Lol at the end. xD

EDIT:

One quote from the blog:
'If you were being chased by a crazy zombie-dog animal underground, would you stop to try and hit it with a hammer? Hell no. You'd run and hide like a little girl and probably look for a fresh pair of pants.'

You could make the enemies on Unknown to be more like the dogs on Overture at the Hard difficulty. Very powerful, so there's not really much change when enemies notice you. But on Overture, there were always hammer and pickaxe...
And one thing that I was waiting in the Black Plague, was that enemies could react when you throw the stuff. Like smashing them of the way with they're hands and keep going without stop, or lowing they're upper part of the body when you throw a box and that way it makes you mist.
In Black Plague, you always hitted the infected (unless you have bad aiming) and the animation was always the same (they STOPPED totally, and shake they're heads). After little time of that, it came more funnier (and you actually could laugh at them) than realistic and scary. Big Grin:
