Brick  Many Hands - A Community Mapping Project

MANY HANDS
A Community Mapping Project

What is Many Hands?
Many hands is an idea which gets the whole community involved within a project to bring everyone's mapping talents into 1 single map. The main idea is '1 Map, 1 Community, 1000 Ideas'.

When I was a modder for Starcraft 2, there was a community project just like this, and what I did was collage every map together in one single video to see how it expanded. It actually looks very awesome, and is extremely fun to do!

And then the finished product as a video fly-through.

I will attach a map at the end of this post, someone just needs to post "I'm editing it", that person then has 8 Hours from the time of that post to add something to the mod that they want to. Then, they make a new post with the new map attached to it. Then, someone else takes it and adds something else. Sooner or later it starts growing and growing into an amazing community map which will be released for people to explore Smile

Are there any rules?
Yes there is rules! Or else it would just turn into a Cluster of random maps spread in every post not knowing which is the right one to work with.

The rules are as follows!
  • Only 1 Person can be working on the map at any given time!
  • You MUST post that you are taking the map!
  • You only have 8 Hours to add something to it!
  • You can only add a Single Room! Do NOT Edit another persons build!
  • You can ONLY use Default Amnesia/Justine Models!
  • It must connect to the Previous Item, But does not have to match it!
  • Place a Script Area around the area you have done!
  • You can take a screenshot and add it to the post when you're done with your 30 Minutes. (Optional)
  • When you're finished, change the number of the map +1! (ManyHands_1, ManyHands_2, etc.)

If anyone else has any questions I can definitely answer them if need be.

Example Post!
Here is an example of what you will need to post!

Quote:"I am taking the Map"

---------------------------------------------------------------
(If you want to chat or something, just cut it off Like so ^, then chat underneath)

And then once you are done with the map, post a new comment!

Quote:"Finished with the map!"
(And well just make sure the time from when you posted taking the map, and when you're finished is within 8 Hours!)

Is there a deadline?
I'm still thinking about it. Depending on how many people are interested in this, we will have to see where it goes. If people keep adding stuff to it, then why not just keep it going!

Anything else?
Think of this as an experiment. and to see what everyone can do within the editor. It gives newer modders to see what other people can do within the same map, and they can get better and better!

If it does end, and people add in the script areas, I can just script it up so when people wander around the map, they can see who designed it. Hopefully this project gets some attention, it would be good to see what Happens with it!

Happy Modding!
