Here's a Pigman who is standing (or sitting?) with Oswald's children. Possible hint that you do play as a Pigman?

After all, it appears to me that the machine was fed on the lifeforce of his children (because they are connected to it with "arterial wires", as we see in the end) and what Oswald did by pressing the button is connecting himself to the machine, and not just killing himself. Although how does that stops the machine I do not understand.

For now I'm almost certain that it's not Mandus, who is inside. Who is it then? Maybe I've read too much Lovecraft but I think it may be his Great Uncle. All in all, it's through his uncle that he finds out about the Compound X and about the Orb. It's his Uncle who sends him material for experiments.
And how about this, mandus says he feels that he and the voice in the telephone were separated twins and the Machine says that their souls are entangled.
