If you feel the need to, go to the Load Game option from the main menu and click not the first Autosave, but the one before. It should be in the Main Hall, and you can just get back to the Basement from there if you need to! This way, if it was a glitch, it was probably caused during the map loading process. Smile

And yes, it is the Chemistry Pot.
