Penumbra Tech Demo: Convert or Reskin?

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to reskin (basically take the textures, and improve them drastically) them, and release it as a higher res. pack for tech demo (of Penumbra) or would it be more suitable to just try to convert it into a custom story for Amnesia?
