Is swat 4 a kind of condemned?

It's not Condemned style horror action, it's a serious police game, like Arma is for military games. But some missions like the one with the serial killer keeping women locked up in his basement are creepy, he's got paper mache casts of them hanging around.

You lose points for shooting people if they don't aim a gun at you first. The ai lower their guns whenever a friendly walks in front of them. Bullet penetration of different materials is modeled. You need to collect evidence along the way, call in radio reports and give instructions to your team. Equipment includes optiwands to look under doors, pepper spray, gas grenades, beanbag non lethal shotguns, tasers, handcuffs, or the more dangerous items (sub machine guns, pistols, etc). There's even a paint ball gun that shoots balls of pepper spray.

All enemy and civilian spawns are random each playthrough, you can replay the maps many times without knowing where people will be (or how many there are).

You can fail missions for using too much force. The way to get a top score is to arrest all suspects, no deaths.

It' probably my all time favourite co-op lan game.


Another game series that might fit is the Tex Murphy series. Detective games with exploration of locations (like homes, offices, etc).
