Penumbra: Prisoner of Fate - new Penumbra game about Red's story!

A new unofficial Penumbra game (in the form of a SOMA mod / total conversion) has been announced by the beloved Russian developer CounterCurrent Games, that also delighted us with Penumbra: Necrologue and Penumbra: Twilight of the Archaic!

The game was announced on 11 December 2016 on the ModDB platform, and is currently in development, with a release date to be announced soon.

Total Conversion (mod) for the game SOMA. «Prisoner of Fate» is a prequel to the first Penumbra that is revealing the fate of a mad miner Tom "Red" Redwood...

The game will use Frictional Games' HPL 3 engine and the original assets and envirnoments used in FG's Penumbra triology, with major improvements regarding the graphics and lighting quality (thanks to the upgraded game engine).

Obviously, the story will take place before the incidents in Penumbra: Overture, before Philip arrives in Greenland, making this game act as a prequel to the entire Penumbra story arc.
