Yes, you will need to buy Fraps.

If you want you can try out the trial of PlayClaw which should be fully functional for a day or so. (if it is only the demo then that should be enough)

Otherwise Camtasia though not meant for game recording might work.
It has a 30-day trial, which should be enough for the full game.

Try playing in window mode.
And use this little trick: (spoilered because it is big)

Spoiler below!

First download ShiftWindow and install it.
Then make a rule that looks like this:

Start Amnesia in windowed mode and then when you run it press Ctrl+Shift+A and it will run in fullscreen. (actually windowed mode but the borders won't be shown as they are outside the screen)
