That's cool! The doors randomly opening were pretty basic stuff; just a pressure plate connected to a memory cell connected to a bunch of delayers connected to a door.
The lights going out is a bit more complicated.
There is a pressure plate connected to a reed/sugarcane floodgate that, when updated by redstone, lets water flow right on top of lava, which is on top of a roof made stairs.
(Stairs let light pass itself.) So, when the water changes the lava into cobblestone, lights go out.
I couldn't find any tutorials for floodgates, so hopefully this picture will suffice. (Unless you already know how to build floodgates.)
(Basically, when the redstone updates the reed it breaks, letting the water flow.)
