New Monsters?

I was just looking at some screenshots of Penumbra Overture, and came across some concept art, and this screenshot of a monster that never made it to the final version.

I was wondering if someone could enlighten me, with the story behind this guy... he is pretty creepy looking

Is Episode#2 going to have this monster in it?

Will Episode#2 be featuring new monsters?

I really dont know, but maybe some1 here on the forum knows.
