Look, my friend has a Dell XPS m1530. It has a nvidia Geforce 8600 and 4gig ram, it runs penumbra smoothly with most of the settings on high.

And for your new Laptop? (i envy you!) Fallout 3 will work great, STALKER, and what not, any releases in the past 2 years will most likely work.
