Alright thanks! I was just curious if I was overlooking something simple or cool. Wonder what the point of that door is then, I'm pretty sure there are more like it too, locked with no explanation and nothing in them.

Pretty much, yeah. There are at least two more in the front hall. and a few more in later levels.
