Yeah, Gothic III and IV are not as good as the first two, but not bad games though.

Gothic II AddOn "Night of the Raven" will also make the game a bit harder. Totally re-balancing the skill-system. A NPC demands double experience to teach you a skill from a certain level.

But I think the changes are good. You will no longer be able to learn everything. Spend your experience more with care! And the new locations/quests are really worth to play the AddOn. I would never recommend playing the game without AddOn.

I like Gothic I more because of the murky atmosphere. Gothic II was more colorized with its green vegetation and blue sky. But in the temple ruins and dungeons there's still the epic atmosphere.
