Deep One is correct. Let's not say wrong stuff about Steam and btw it's a great game platform. Who are you kidding now? The things it offers are amazing. Also, offline should in theory work indefinitely. Sometimes there are bugs according to steam support that can cause internet to be required when in offline mode.
