wouldn't it be somewhat referring to it, that getting caught is the worst thing to happen to them?

I'll simplify:

-All animals want to survive and will do everything they can to do so.

-Only a few living organisms (including humans) acknowledge that they can't do anything to avoid death, but they try to survive because they are programmed to do this by the genetic code.
