I don't think I would mind if the game made that switch to the unreal engine as long as the devs can port everything done so far to it and properly optimize it. After all development on the game is still really early.

Also the pixelated textures in the demo were done on purpose? That's pretty interesting to hear, seems like a nod to the graphics of the original.

The project is now around $800,000 funded out of the $900,000 as of this post with almost 13,000 backers!
