Well basically, the developers have said it themselves too, that it's just a rehash of the older games. But they just put it into a more appealing sense saying that they are just taking the aspects what they like from the older games into the game. But can't really say nothing about it at the moment.. but not expecting much though.

I completely agree. It seems like developers are following the same old trends and refusing to try something new and be original. However, some of the games that are being original are lower-profile games that are being ignored, so I suppose it isn't encouraging developers to think outside the box.
