Menu logo not transparent?

Hey guys, sorry for another question (for some of you =P) but I made a custom story logo in Photoshop today and PURPOSELY made it clear throughout the picture but white still shows up even though I didn't have it that way. Anyone have solutions?

When the white isn't there, the lettering and grey are opaque, giving it a smokey, transparent like appearance. which fits because Sciophobia is a fear of SHADOWS.

That simply means you didn't add an alpha channel. Are you using Photoshop?

Making it transparent in Photoshop does not automatically make it transparent when saving to a different format. JPEG does not support alpha channels; image types like PNG do.

The menu logo is used as a TGA (Targa), so I saved it as that... Will the menu logo come up if it's a PNG?

Photoshop

1.
Click the layer's picture on the left, bottom side. (Ctrl+Left Mousebutton)
2.
Go to Channels.
3.
Click the little thing at the bottom, under. Create new channel.
4.
Take the layer you created and now it should show you black picture with the edges of your picture.
5.
Paint the inner part of your picture with white. (Use Paintbucket)
6.
Save the file as .tga or .png

Don't use Gimp to do alpha channels. It gives you bad results in my opinion.

The GIMP worked fine for me when creating inventory item images. It should, therefore, also work fine for menu logos. If there are any white edges, that would be due to not cutting out the anti-alias effect of the picture.
