Brick  Mansion set pieces supplement

I woke up a few days ago and decided I wanted to play around in this engine again, and I figured it was about time I learned to make modular level pieces. So far I guess it's been turning out alright. Here's what I'm doing.

I might have messed up some stuff on this and will end up redoing a bit of it, we'll see.

zoomed into the emblems.

Window pieces, might make more, we'll see.

Low poly models with normals and AO, haven't had time to do the others yet. Iirc the window is 370 tris or something, and the wall is 270.

Quick ingame shot.

Gonna be a fun week of texturing ahhhh

Feedback, crit, tips for whatever I'm probably doing wrong etc are appreciated.

Lai awesome. Probably the best modeler on the forum. What it comes down to I guess is taste. Looks "clean". Shall be interesting to see them with textures.

How does one go around making the pieces the correct scale - nothing overlapping?

Even if that's true, I'm probably one of the worst texture artists lol.

All the pieces are 4m long and 4m high, with the main wall (where candles, and lamps would be attached) is at 0 on the x, or y axis. I just ended up referencing the sizes of the stock level assets and made mine use the same dimensions.

As long as you stick to multiples of 25cm you'll line up with the amnesia grid and shouldn't have any trouble sticking pieces together without overlap.

Does that mean there won't be any low-poly editions?

huh

I can make the low poly models just fine, I'm just suggesting it's going to take a while before I can paint a texture I don't hate for them lol

I finished the main mansion wall pieces, a door frame, and a welder (which still needs some work). Gotta make some replacement curtains, new concaves, and maybe a door, when I get the chance.

Can't wait to see how the models looks like with textures that don't look like flat and bland.

Really good work, I'm very impressed! Keep up the good work, are you baking the normal maps from a high-poly model through a sculpting program? 'cause the bump mapping is amazingly well done. Smile
