custom story help

I have it in the custom stories file but it wont show up in-game! And when i download custom stories they open on my note pad D:

What did you do? You have to extract the contents, put it in the custom_stories folder in redist, and run it in the game.

EDIT:
I forgot to tell you that some CS's are FC's, which do things CS's can't do (Like changing the Lantern and text. And no, these FC's won't overwrite the original game unless you installed it wrong.). What CS did you download?
