That can only be true if said player was afraid. One cannot predict that every player will be scared of the their Custom Story.
As for the sewer problem, Andy is right about making everything "idiot-proof". This concept is heavily applied to software development, because if you have a product that has a bug that can ruin a client's experience; chances are that client will not want to recommend your product to anyone nor will he/she buy another one of your products. As my professor once said, "A program is only as good as its creator that programmed it."
