Black screen and gameplay (Intel(R) HD Graphics Family)

I downloaded amnesia eager try it out. however when i start the game the main menu is black, no weird castle walls or anything, then when i start the game only the crosshair is visible, pressing j and m and esc do bring up menus and they are visible, i tried everything here http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-3754.html and it hasn't seemed to work. maybe i did something wrong or didnt understand or whatever, please help. thanks in advance. I have an an intel i3 with Intel® HD Graphics Family.

Im assuming you never tried updating your intel driver?

it just said it encountered an error and couldnt install the drivers.
