No. You go to "Try or Buy", pick "Students - Free Software", in the bottom left, apply as a student. When you're done, go to the download and in "version", pick 2011

Isn't maya hard to export stuff from into Amnesia?

Maya is probably one of the easiest to export stuff.
3DS Max and Blender are more difficult, or so I've heard. I've only really used Maya, so I've no personal experience in the matter.
