Any Walking Dead Fans? (TV Series)

So in preparation of October 14's glorious season 3 opening of The Walking Dead, I have been re-watching the series while I 3D model. I haven't read the comics yet, but I feel I need to. They just do the series so well in the TV, game, and I assume the comics as well. Now, I'm not much of a TV person, as this is the only thing I actually turn it on for, and I was curious if there were any other fans out there?

It's been pretty interesting so far, because it felt pretty realistic.
Spoiler below!

But at the end of Season 2, this "zombie girl" shows up. I heard she was in the comics, but am I the only one worried this is going to turn too unrealistic?

I'm just afraid of where the show is going to head. Same thing happened to Lost. The question is, what do people feel about the series? Ideas? Favorite characters? Anything =]

I just came to the part where Shane has sex with Lori.. Statyk's pissed again.

I'm currently halfway through watching season 2. Gotta say I love it so far. It focuses on character interaction as a primary, and I love how they've worked with that.

1. I dunno. Sometimes the series feel a bit boring. I do not want it to be a Left 4 Dead the tv show. but Some more action and some zombies on a zombie tv show would be nice!

2. I would like to know some more backstory about how rotten, barely walking "people" could overrun one of the most militarized countries in the world that had nukes, armed, trained men, flamethrowers and all that anti pandemic shit! because last time I checked the infection itself did not kill. only direct exposure to it by a walker's bite would. because really. It makes little sense. was the US army sleeping when the dead started to walk around? they don't even run for fuck sake! even if a large number of people were infected by the zombie virus the army would more likely nuke the place and end it up in a matter of seconds. its silly.

I really love The Walking Dead, it's a great series. I have pretty high expectations on season three since season two dragged on waaay too long.
Spoiler below!
Most of the season was spent looking for Sofia and it was so obvious what'd happen to her, the rest of the series was spent arguing with Hershel about how to deal with zombies.
I was a bit dissapointed in season two, but I still like the series and I'm looking forward to season three.
And about that woman with two pet zombies, I'm not so worried about her turning the series too unrealistic. From what I could tell from the trailer she seems to be quite normal.

I watched all of the first season but missed the last episode.

As a whole I thought the series was too slow and really bored me. I heard season 2 was much better though so I might have to get back to watching it.

I had that same feeling Prelauncher. About halfway through I was just ASKING for a horde to chase them out of the farm. I felt they took too long there, and boy am I glad to see they moved on. I haven't watched the Season 3 trailer yet, I'd like to keep everything a secret =P

And Danny, I always wondered the same thing in your second point. I mean, they had TANKS. They wouldn't even need to shoot, just drive! But hey, there's a lot of them, and it shows the seriousness of the situation.

Has anyone read the comics?

Really? I liked Season 1, but Season 2 seemed to drag on. =\

I like it, much better than 99% of the useless garbage on TV.

The only part I always think is a bit over dramatic about zombie survival scenarios is that honestly, a year or so in and all you'd need to worry about is fighting some old corpses that are already falling apart anyway. So basically just wait around, keep your head low and eventually none of these scary zmobies will even be able to stand up, much less eat you.

Let's be honest, if in my city (280,000 guys) 70% of us became zombies (196,000) which would leave 84,000 humans, then at the end of a year there would be about 20,000 people left, and then they'd die eventually over the next year. There would be plenty of new zombies.

If you go by the scenario of most of the shows etc., most of humanity are already zombies...which makes for a really small recruitment pool! If you extrapolate the ratios of people left by what you see, and what's usually implied in the shows, it seems there are hardly any to be become new zombies.

On top of this, as a body rots and loses muscles and connective tissue, its ability to move around would be ridiculously limited.
