Amnesia custom story glitch?

So I've been working for a while now on my CS and it's going great and it's really fun. I first made this custom story last summer but gave up on it because i didn't have the patience to learn the coding :/. But about a month after that i moved it to my laptop and decided to give it a second try. Now my laptop isn't really the best computer out there so when I try my map it lags a lot especially now that I've made a few bigger rooms. So I moved the CS back to my better computer so i could test the map there without any lag and maybe work on the CS on this computer sometimes. Now comes the big issue... Once I've moved the map via a flash drive and started it, it looks EXACTLY the same as it did a few month ago during the summer... All the hps and map files are in the correct folder and all my coding is there but for some weird reason neither my Amnesia nor HPL editor can load the map correctly? It just looks like it did before?! I've tried pretty much everything that I can think of to fix this but noting works? So if someone knows what's wrong please help me Sad

Weird thing. Here I will give you two possible solutions:

-Check if you moved to the usb the exact map and .hps.
-Check if you are opening another folder. It happened to me sometimes Smile

If there's a map cache, delete it. By what I know, they only give problems. I don't know if those are useful for something.
It seems something of not-getting-resources.

Check everything, repeat the process. Get the usb, and move another time the laptop map and .hps to the other computer.

Maybe something with the map cache... Is the game steam bought, or retail?

Retail

Everytime I've restarted the map a map_cache appears, that does't happen on my other PC. I removed it but nothing happens it just comes back once I've turned of the game.

There is the problem!
Your files are located another place! YourComputer can explain better but they should be placed in:
[COMPUTER]/Users/[USERNAME]/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files(x86)/Amnesia - The Dark Descent/redist/custom_stories

Yea, he said that in a thread, that windows "lied" to amnesia and that windows puts some things in weird places.

Try going in there and do whatever it has to be done.

at the end of the it says that the amnesia folder is on my desktop when it's actually not :S. I wish someone else here have had this problem.

They have, and it was normally resolved by dealing with the Windows virtual store.

I can't find it... I have a windows XP... Yea i know quite outdated but I saw in one of your other posts that Microsoft started with this on Vista.

I have the same problem as you storfigge... I have 2 custom story folders... One in my virtual store and one another place.... program files i think...
Though i have no problem finding it...
